Home Sweet Home Bloggers,
We have our family reunion twice a year in a small country home that I have been visiting for the last 51 years. Not much has changed in that home. We have changed of course, gotten older and a little smarter. Of course I am much smarter now in the Snipe Hunting events. Have you ever been Snipe Hunting? Snipe is something Julia Child may have prepared at one time, lol.
Our family reunion consists of various casseroles, soups, chili, veggies, deserts and hot apple cider. Of course it is a country family reunion, we prepare things we can pronounce. I think Julie and Julia would have liked it but I do not remember seeing a simple casserole in Julia Child's cookbook.
I finished reading Julie Powell's book, "Julie/Julia" this weekend and rented the movie (AGAIN)last night. I love that movie and I love Meryl Streep's performance. I was raised watching Julia Child on Saturday mornings on PBS. I miss that.
The Julie/Julia movie is very motivational for me. You know I started this blog 93 days ago after seeing the movie Julie/Julia. Julie blogged her way through Julia Child's cookbook. I woke up thinking I could do the same with my first published children's book.
With Julie's blog, she had several followers. I started out with my blog going through the same website that was mentioned in the movie. I thought the easiest way to achieve my goal to be on The New York Times Best Seller's List would be to start in New York. I'm still working on it. Today is day 93 of my journey and I have 272 days to go.
This weekend, I blogged our local paper, left a message at our library for a book signing and contacted the reporter who contacted me about the book review she was going to do on "The Split Pea Soup Caper." This was all done of course before our family reunion. Tomorrow will be here soon enough.
Venture ahead bloggers.
