Hip, Hip, Hurrrr Ray! Day 105!

Out of sight out of mind bloggers!

Slip Sliding away. Slipping from my daily blogging. But, soon you will be sick of my blogs, because how else will I pass my time recovering from a full hip replacement and shortening my leg? Yes, I got the news today from the surgeon. No scheduled date yet. So, I am working on putting my bag together to set beside the bed. Got to have the laptop right there. I can work on my second manuscript which I have finished but have to edit some.

My appointment was today, I was sick to my stomach, scared to death, had no idea what was going to be said. I was so sceptical. Concerned, who is going to cook dinner for my daughter, who will take care of my mom, run errands, etc, etc. Then I decided, just do it. Get the surgery over with and I will be doing everything better without a limp and the pain. Why put it off?? So, here I go............Keep me in your prayers.

I received a couple of invites for book signings. That among everything else, I have not commmited to 100%, but once I have the surgery out of the way, there will not be anything stopping me, going to New York and being on the New York Times Best Seller's List. Today is day 105 of my journey.

Have a great day tomorrow!

When the cat is away.....the mouse rests! Day 104

Purrrrrrr Bloggers,

Not burrrrr but purrrrr. Purring is when the cat is fat, happy, fed and being scratched. Now when the cat is busy feeling all good about himself, the mouse who is slim and trimmed because he has been running his tail off away from the cat, can now rest his little chubby hole until the cat awakes, than back to work. Kind of like tomorrow, got to go back to work.

This weekend has gone by toooooo fast. Yesterday, was a busy day of doing chores, shopping, donating books and attending my friends first book signing. She was so nervous, I am glad I could be there to help her out. What are friends for? Next weekend she and I will be at the Edmond Historical Society's Book Fair. We both have Edmond ties, she was born there,my father too.

Yesterday, I donated one of my books that the library requested. I dropped it off for the library system to purchase for all their branches. This week I am working on my give aways and my new poster for my new table setting I came up with for the next signing. Two words, "Polka Dots." I am hooked. Of course they have to be green to go along with the peas in the book.

The week ahead will be filled with lots of good news for everyone! Wished the weekend would have lasted longer.

Have a good week ahead because I am!

Prayers to Haiti!

Not tonight!

My heart goes out to the people of Haiti. My prayers are with the families of the those who have suffered a loss. That is not correct, my prayers are with them all. Prayers for our American Embassy. I know of several missionaries who are in Haiti ministering to those in need.

I have been using my blog to talk about the writing and selling of my book. I am not counting today. This blog is asking for more prayers and aid for the people of Haiti.

Thanks for listening.

Too Good For Junk! Day 102

I'm catching up bloggers.

I was raised watching 60 Minutes and Andy Rooney's commentary's. Of course I have not watched Andy for sometime, no offense to him but you know how caught up we get into and with things in life. Tonight, I did have the opportunity to hear Mr. Rooney's piece this evening. I think it was called "Too Good for Junk!"

Mr. Rooney talked about the ten electric razors he still has, showed pictures of his basement with things he will never part with because they are too good for junk. He showed his office with four computers, one still in a box. That box would be there a year from now he said. Oh how we never throw things away, now we can recycle.

Mr. Rooney decided to start off the new year with a clean office, so he will pack everything up and move to the basement until next year. I think he was directing his article to me. I move my furniture around all the time. I can never decide what to include in a garage sale or what to take to the consignment shop. I have bits and pieces of craft stuff, scrap booking stuff, everywhere around. So, what did I do Christmas evening? I repacked all my craft stuff into new boxes for the closet, because it is too good for junk!

2010 has been very slow for me. I have scheduled a few book signings, and have several leads towards more. But I am in that too good for junk mood. I am moving things, like my lower half from the bed to the lazy chair. I want to blame it on the weather but I can't. I have to blame it on me, myself and I. I could be going through all the listings I have for future events, contact them by e-mail, visit their websites, I make plans too but have not followed through a hundred percent yet. I will get there, I must complete my journey to the New York Times Best Seller's List.

It is weird where you can write your next book at. I wrote my second children's book this weekend while sitting in the emergency room for six hours waiting on the doctor to treat my mom who had fallen and fractured her rib. That sounds kind of crazy in a sad way, but I have the book written. It started on the back of a bond paper Blockbuster mail out, and ended on a Christmas card my boss had given me. After I scribbled my words down, I asked the front desk for some copy paper. It takes me awhile1

This weekend did I transcribe my new book to the laptop, no, I set it aside because it is TOO GOOD FOR JUNK!

Have a great week bloggers.

Gift Card Crazy! Day 101!

Shopping has just begun bloggers!

The economy goes gift card crazy over the holidays. I only purchased two gift cards for my kids but I borrowed several really cute gift cards, cut them up and made a frame for my desktop computer monitor. I'm always crafting something.

I received like ten different gift cards from my bosses. I used one today at Target and bought me, myself and I, my very own delayed Christmas present. I guess I got it free. I love free. I exchanged a pair of house shoes and used the gift card so I really did not spend too much on my new sweeper. I love my new little red dirt devil. It is really sad that I rushed home, excelling through the yellow lights, grabbed the box and rushed into the house to plug that little devil in. It was sooooooooo cool to see the dirt, dust, dog hair, cat hair, etc, folded into one giant hair ball. That's entertainment!

While shopping for my new little buddy, I received a voice mail from one of the assisted living centers I held a craft show at this Fall, asking me to come and do my book reading for the residents there. I actually have not preformed any readings yet for any age. Yes, I do have stage fright, but I keep thinking of a marketing logo, "Just Do It!". I can talk a blue streak with one or two people but lots of people of all ages sitting and watching every move I make, listening to my kid like voice, thinking, "Gee, she dresses like my mom" something to that effect. Where's the paper sack, starting to hyperventilate? Wait, "Just do it!" I know I can. Be the ball, just shut up and drink it, just do it. I think I can, I think I can........I will.

Be the ball!
